What to know before you cross

Getting here

The office is at Hospital Angeles Tijuana, on Paseo de los Héroes in Zona Río, roughly 10 minutes by car from the San Ysidro port of entry and 15 from Otay Mesa.

You can drive across, or walk across at PedEast or PedWest and take a taxi or rideshare. The hospital has its own parking.

What to bring

Your passport or passport card to re-enter the United States, a list of your medications and any previous studies: colonoscopy reports, lab work, CT or MRI.

If you have a US doctor, bring their contact details. You will leave with a written summary in English.

Procedures and going home

Office procedures and most anorectal surgeries are outpatient. After sedation or anesthesia you must not drive, so come with a companion.

For colonoscopy, the bowel preparation is done at home the day before. Colon surgery requires a hospital stay of a few days.

Follow-up from home

Post-procedure reviews are scheduled before you leave. Questions between visits are answered by phone or WhatsApp.

Border wait times change daily: check the CBP Border Wait Times site before you travel, and consider SENTRI or Ready Lane if you have them.
